Dreaming Through Art: First Nations Perspectives
27 May – 18 July 2025
Through passion, cultural foresight and artistic vigour, UniSQ Honorary Doctorate David Hinchliffe has and continues to grow a substantial First Nations Art Collection. He has developed a keen eye and intrinsic desire to preserve the cultural heritage found in these artworks and hopes to inspire scholarly research and appreciation for their importance.
Hinchliffe says in his own words,
“The best of Aboriginal art is a powerful voice for First Nations people. It has the power to touch all Australians and to speak to us sometimes more cogently than words themselves. It is vital that this art comes to us with integrity and is received by us with respect.”
Through his generosity, UniSQ is the proud custodian of large portion of this collection. Join UniSQ as we publicly highlight just a small portion of the 230 First Nation artworks currently on loan to the University, with a seminal exhibition of the collections most significant, and artistically striking pieces.
