Graduart 2022
Curators: Dr Rhiannan Johnson and Brodie Taylor
Visual Art studies at the University of Southern Queensland provides a unique, exciting, and innovative environment for undergraduate and postgraduate students to undertake studio and theoretical research. Students can explore a breadth of genres under the guidance of committed staff who are eminent artists, arts managers, and theoreticians in their fields. The 2022 Graduart exhibition demonstrated student artwork that was diverse and professional. This exhibition has supported students to evolve their individual artistic abilities.

Art for many is a decoration to colour one’s life, however for artists it is not a want but a need to create – a way of making sense of the world and their place within in. Creative outcomes allow us to look at what is familiar through a different window and reshape the way in which we view both the known and unknown. This is precisely what the 2022 Graduart exhibition encapsulated, it brought together creative impulses, ideas and outcomes and allowed us the freedom to wonder, wander, and consider what it is to be human. This exhibition reflected diversity through creativity and aimed to contribute to a smarter, more sensitive, and more just world.
