Welcome from the Dean of the Graduate Research School
As Dean of the Graduate Research School I am pleased to introduce you to the exciting and dynamic research opportunities that we offer at the University of Southern Queensland. UniSQ is committed to establishing quality industry and community collaborations in order to achieve world class research outcomes.
Our strong history of flexible learning makes us leaders in on-campus and digital learning, and an ideal choice for future research leaders seeking to undertake a research degree. Our research graduates engage in world-class research that seeks to provide positive societal impact in delivering innovative research outcomes.
Our core university values of respect, integrity, and excellence are embedded in our overarching research goal to be internationally recognised for high impact research in our areas of research focus. In the most recent Excellence in Research for Australia evaluation by the Australian Government we achieved recognition in 18 research areas as ‘well above world standard’, 5 research areas ‘above world standard’, and a further 7 areas ‘at world standard’. Our areas of research focus therefore align with state, national, and international industry and government priorities, ensuring that our higher degree graduates are well-placed in a globally competitive market to succeed in their chosen field.
We are committed to the delivery of high quality research training and supports, and provide opportunities to assist our higher degree students in their engagement with industry and community in order to enhance their employability skills and future partnerships.
UniSQ has three main campuses located at Ipswich, Springfield, and Toowoomba. Our location outside of major cities makes it an attractive place to study, work, and live, while feeling connected to urban centres.
We welcome your interest in undertaking your higher degree research at the University of Southern Queensland, and we value your contribution to the culture and research community within our university.
