Outbound Mobility

Study overseas and explore the world, all while receiving credit towards your UniSQ degree. Develop your academic skills and grow personally as you make new connections, rise to challenges and go on adventures. Your future employer will value your overseas experience. It demonstrates your independence, confidence, perseverance, adaptability and willingness to perform in your career.

How long you want to study overseas for is your choice. You can choose to study for a few weeks, a full semester or an entire year. Short-term experience programs are two to six weeks long. This usually provides you with credit for one course, or part of a course. For Semester Exchange Programs, programs, you can choose to study for a Semester, or a whole year. To participate in any overseas study program, and receive any available funding, you must be eligible to receive credit towards your UniSQ degree.

All students

  • will receive credit towards your UniSQ degree after successful completion of your overseas program.
  • will not receive a degree from the host university.

Study Exchange students

  • will remain enrolled at UniSQ for the duration of the overseas program.
  • will pay tuition fees to UniSQ, not the host institution.

Study Abroad students

  • will enrol directly with your chosen overseas study provider.
  • will pay tuition fees directly to the host university and take a leave of absence from studies at UniSQ (if applicable).
Plan your overseas study for your second year at UniSQ. This is so you have a range of courses to choose from. It may also be possible to study overseas in your third year, as long as it is not your final semester.
When you have completed your overseas study program, your host university usually provides the UniSQ Global Education Program Team with an academic transcript. Please use this transcript to claim your credit for your successful studies.
Students and staff participating in an overseas placement or study program are required to follow all UniSQ and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) policies and procedures while overseas. Check information about the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) and Child Protection.
