This two day conference focuses on developing secondary History teachers’ and pre-service teachers’ understanding of and capacity to deliver Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum: History and Version 2 of the QCAA senior History syllabuses, which are due to be implemented in 2025.

Sessions will be led by a team of expert practicing teachers in the Modern and Ancient History syllabuses and historians from both UniSQ and other institutions. With HERN’s commitment to making PD accessible to regional and remote teachers, the event will be a hybrid of face-to-face and online.

Registration cost: $40. Invoices will be sent closer to the conference date.

Attendees can BYO morning tea and lunch or purchase from a range of on-campus locations. Bounce Cafe serves barista-made coffee and a range of quick eats. USQFresh offers salads and sandwiches and fresh-squeezed juices, and the Refectory has a wide range of menu options, including pies, pastas, pizzas, burgers, laksa and lots of daily specials.

Toowoomba hosts the Carnival of Flowers in September so be sure to book accommodation early.
