UniSQ Library Makerspace Maker Kits Project
There are 120 free maker kits available, so register your interest early to avoid missing out.
The four different types of kits are:
1. Arduino & Sensors
The Arduino kit includes an Arduino Uno, a microcontroller used to make your own inventions. In this kit, learn to write your own code and build a circuit to blink an LED, read a photoresistor (light sensor) and move a servo motor.
2. Wearable Technology
This kit will teach you the basics of soft circuits with conductive thread. Create a magnetically attachable clothing reflector using sewable LEDs.
3. Learn to Solder
In this kit, you’ll receive a USB powered soldering iron and learn to solder on a light up kraken themed UniSQ Makerspace circuit board, designed to be worn as a pin on your clothing or bag.
4. Home Automation
The home automation kit contains an ESP32 microcontroller, designed to build your own WiFi connected inventions. Create your own water detecting sensor to alert you when to water your plants.
Eligibility and conditions
- The Maker Kits Project is for UniSQ students who reside in Australia, studying on campus or externally.
- Limited places available.
- Distributed on a first in, first served basis.
- Only one kit type per student
