UniSQ alumni honoured in 2025 Australia Day Awards

UniSQ celebrates eight distinguished alumni who have been recognised in the 2025 Australia Day Honours List.

The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) proudly celebrates the achievements of eight distinguished alumni recognised in the 2025 Australia Day Honours List.

Their outstanding contributions across public service, emergency response, and community leadership highlight the far-reaching impact of UniSQ graduates on both the local and national stage.

Chief Inspector Gai Bolderrow – awarded the Australian Police Medal
Mr David Brazel – awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal
Mr Gary Gibson – awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia
Dr Keith Graham – awarded the Public Service Medal
Chief Inspector Peter Jenkins – awarded the Australian Police Medal
Superintendent Glen Pointing – awarded the Australian Police Medal
Assistant Commissioner Christopher Stream – awarded the Australian Police Medal
Ms Amanda Joy Young – awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia.

These alumni joined more than 700 Australians acknowledged for their work across community service, science and research, industry, sport, and the arts.
