Someone call a doctor: We’ve got the (medicine) pathway to success
The next generation of homegrown doctors in the Darling Downs and South-West regions were officially welcomed to the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) today.
Twenty-seven students were selected for the 2025 cohort of the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Medicine Pathway) and received their stethoscopes in Toowoomba today surrounded by their families.
Graduates of the program will be eligible to transition directly into The University of Queensland’s Doctor of Medicine program at the UQ Rural Clinical School – Toowoomba Regional Clinical Unit, as part of a collaboration among the two universities, Darling Downs Health, and the South-West Hospital and Health Service.
The Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (Medicine Pathway) offers students the opportunity to complete all their undergraduate and postgraduate studies, as well as clinical training, in the region. Darling Downs Health and South West Hospital and Health Service provide student placements, internships, and specialist training.
