Research Masterclass - Descriptive Phenomenology as a Research Method

This session offers an introduction to phenomenology as a research method with a focus on Husserlian descriptive phenomenology.

During this presentation, participants will: 

• Gain an understanding of how the philosophy of phenomenology is applied as a research method in nursing
• Determine if phenomenology will answer their research question
• Describe data collection and data analysis methods using Colaizzi's 7 step framework
• Recognise the challenges of adhering to the phenomenological approach
