The issue of well-being in schools has been extensively addressed in the existing literature. However, there continues to be no consensus about how to define well-being or what is effective well-being promotion. As these issues are yet to be overcome, further research on the topic is required. This research will investigate how effective is the GIW-12P model as a tool for teacher leaders to guide decision making in relation to well-being promotion within schools. The existing literature, together with the research questions, will inform the choice of methodology- a qualitative case study using the theoretical lens of phenomenology. Participants will be purposively selected (n=approximately 30) from one large urban school in South Australia with three separate campuses. Data will be collected over a two-year period. Participants will be invited to participate in semi-structured focus group conversations and a survey. Artifacts, including observations from the researcher's reflective journal and the documented operational structure of the school, were also collected for the study. Codable data will be thematically analysed using a three-phase data analysis process. The findings of the study will include insights into the implementation of the GIW-12P in one school across three separate campuses, investigate the GIW-12P model to inform decision-making for well-being promotion and determine the effectiveness of GIW-12P for well-being promotion. This study aims to provide opportunities for the practitioner-researcher to reflect on practice and develop greater expertise in leading well-being promotion within the school context and potentially beyond.
