ADF Veterans Scholarship

In 2025, UniSQ will offer one ADF Veterans Scholarship to support an Australian Defence Force (ADF) veteran who is commencing their studies in a bachelor’s degree program.

Established in 2022 through gifts from donors, the scholarship recognizes operational service by Australian Defence Force veterans and supports their transition into civilian careers through tertiary education.

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $12 000 to be paid over three years.

Applicants must:

  • be a domestic student residing in Australia
  • meet the following Australian Defence Force (ADF) service requirements:
    • have left full-time service with the ADF within the last five years, or transition (if not already) from full-time service in 2025; and
    • have completed operational service as part of their ADF service
  • be a commencing student
  • be intending to enrol full-time at UniSQ in a bachelor’s degree program in Study Period 1 2025 (e.g., Trimester 1 2025)
  • have not already attained a tertiary qualification at a bachelor level or higher.

Applicants must:

  • address each personal statement question below (250 words maximum per question):
    • what influenced and motivated you to choose your intended study program at UniSQ
    • how you see yourself as a future professional within your field
    • what challenges have you faced in transitioning out of, or since leaving, the ADF.
  • provide a copy of your ADF Record of Service (if your date of separation/intent to separate is not stated on your Record of Service, please also provide evidence of submission of form AC853 - Application to Transfer Within or Separate from the ADF).

Please Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.

Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.
