Graeme and Jan Thomas Scholarship

In 2025, UniSQ will offer one Graeme and Jan Thomas Scholarship to encourage and support a student continuing their studies in the Bachelor of Accounting, or a program with an accounting major (including double degree programs).

This award has been established in memory of Jan Thomas, a business student who appreciated the need for support for students with the challenges they face in their pursuit of academic achievement. 

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $2000 to be paid in one instalment.

Applicants must:

  • be a domestic student currently residing in Australia
  • be continuing their studies full-time at UniSQ in the Bachelor of Accounting, or a program with an accounting major (including double degree programs) in Study Period 1 2025 (e.g., Trimester 1 2025)
  • have, as at the release of results for Study Period 2 2024:
    • a minimum of 16 study units completed and credited towards their current program
    • a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 5.5
  • not currently hold a UniSQ awarded scholarship.

Applicants must:

  • address each personal statement question below (250 words maximum per question):
    • reflecting on your studies to date, how will you make the most of your remaining studies at UniSQ
    • how do you see yourself as a future professional within your field.

*Applicants will also be assessed on academic achievement.

 

The Graeme and Jan Thomas Award is intended as an incentive to promising students and will therefore not necessarily be awarded to the student with the highest GPA.
