Ipswich Railway RSL Scholarship

In 2025, UniSQ will offer one Ipswich Railway RSL Scholarship to support a student continuing their studies in a bachelor's degree program offered by the School of Psychology and Wellbeing, School of Health and Medical Sciences, or School of Nursing and Midwifery.

The Ipswich Railway Sub Branch Inc. is part of the Moreton District of RSL Queensland. One of our objectives is to look after the health and wellbeing of our mates with whom we served. In order to do this, we have to, in many cases, rely on the expertise of others and by providing this scholarship we are indirectly supporting our mates.

This scholarship has been created to support students who are likely to contribute to a better understanding of health and wellbeing for military veterans.

The scholarship will have a maximum value of $5000 to be paid in two instalments.

Applicants must:

  • be a domestic student currently residing in Australia
  • be a resident of the Ipswich City Council Local Government Area
  • be continuing their studies full-time at UniSQ in a bachelor's degree program offered by the School of Psychology and Wellbeing, School of Health and Medical Sciences, or School of Nursing and Midwifery in Study Period 1 2025 (e.g., Trimester 1 2025)
  • have, as at the release of results for Study Period 2 2024 (e.g., Trimester 2 2024):
    • a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 13 study units completed and credited towards their current program
    • a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 4.0.

Applicants must:

  • address each personal statement question below (250 words maximum):
    • reflecting on your studies to date, how will you make the most of your remaining studies at UniSQ
    • how do you see yourself as a future professional within your field
    • how do you see your career being of benefit to, or supporting military veterans
  • provide evidence to show you are a resident of the Ipswich City Council Local Government Area (refer LGA directory), as directed in the application process. 

* Applications will also be assessed on academic achievement.

Please Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
