Undergraduate Research Scholarship Program - 2025

Commencing in May 2025, UniSQ will offer a number of Undergraduate Research Scholarships giving UniSQ undergraduate students the opportunity to work with world-class researchers gaining invaluable research, professional and academic skills. Students will have the opportunity to establish academic and industry connections and discover research before engaging in research projects and higher degree studies.

Projects are available for up to 10 weeks between May 2025 and November 2025 with projects being situated in the Academic Division, a research institute/centre or co-located across both the Academic Division and a research institute/centre.

Each scholarship will have a maximum value of $2000.

Applicants must:

  • be enrolled in an undergraduate program (University pathways students are not eligible for these scholarships);
  • have completed at least eight units of study at UniSQ but have not completed all units of study in their program (i.e., students who are eligible to graduate are not able to apply for this scholarship);
  • be studying in a program relevant to the selected research project/s;
  • have a high level of academic achievement as indicated by a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.5 or above at the time of application; and
  • have a genuine interest in undertaking a Higher Degree by Research study (i.e., PhD or Master of Research).

Applications will be assessed by a panel that includes the Associate Dean (Research) and at least one other key research stakeholder.

Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis with consideration of the following:

  • undertaking an undergraduate program that is related to the selected project;
  • reasons for wanting to participate in the scholarship program;
  • project availability;
  • prior and active engagement with the Project Supervisor; and
  • the academic standing of the applicant.

Choose a project from the list of available projects as outlined in the Project Booklet.

Contact the Project Supervisor to obtain more information about the project prior to submitting your application. This should not be left to the last moment nor be a cursory contact. Your active engagement with the supervisors is reflective of your reasons and motivations for wanting to participate in the scholarship program.

Only one application can be submitted but more than one project may be identified as a second and third option. You do not have to indicate a second or third option.

Submit the completed Application Form to the Associate Dean (Research), Professor Andrea Lamont-Mills by 5:00pm (AEST) Friday 28 March 2025.
