Overview

  • English for Academic Purposes (EAP) aims to improve your English language reading and writing skills to prepare you to study the UniReady preparatory program. Developing your academic English allows you to understand lectures, participate in discussions, and complete assignments effectively.
  • As an English for Academic Purposes student, you can access great teaching and support in a friendly caring environment. Learn how to develop your language skills and gain the confidence you need to succeed and study at university.
  • To start your studies in EAP you will need an IELTS result of at least 4.5 in the four macro skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) or an equivalent recognised English proficiency test. If you have not completed an IELTS test, you will need to complete a comprehensive set of tests that will help us ensure you start your studies at the best level for you.

Entry requirements

  • Minimum academic requirements: completion of senior secondary schooling in the home country or Year 12 in an Australian High School or completed 'A' levels.
  • English language entry requirements:
    EAP0111 - An entry level of IELTS 4.5, or equivalent
    EAP0112 - An entry level of IELTS 5.0, or equivalent

Students with an IELTS of 4.5, or equivalent, are required to enrol in EAP0111 English Language 1.

Students with an IELTS of 5.0, or equivalent, are required to enrol in EAP0112 English Language 2.

Upon the successful completion of EAP0111, students may enrol in EAP0112.

Fees and scholarships

Student services and amenities fees

You may need to pay student services and amenities (SA) fees as part of your course costs.

Loan to help you pay your fees

You may not have to pay your course (subject) fees upfront. FEE-HELP allows you to defer your fees until your income reaches a certain level. Find out if you are eligible for FEE-HELP

You may also be eligible to receive financial support from Centrelink.
