  • Are you interested in leading complex engineering projects and teams, as well as developing your entrepreneurship skills to effectively drive your own ventures? The Master of Professional Engineering (Engineering Management and Enterprise) is ideal if you have a three or four year engineering degree and want to broaden your career options.
  • Throughout this degree there is an emphasis on practical experience and preparing you thoroughly to take the next step in your engineering career. You will also have the opportunity to apply your formal knowledge to a real world problem by completing a research project and dissertation.

Further study

Master of Professional Engineering graduates are eligible to be considered for higher research degrees such as the Master of Research or PhD studies.

Professional accreditation

The course content in Engineering Management and Enterprise specialisation is directly linked to Engineers Australia Executive Engineering Stage 4 accreditation competencies but is not accredited as there is no graduate membership with Engineers Australia in this new professional area of practice (i.e., membership begins at CPEng and then after this stage 3 Executive Engineer). Graduates from this specialisation must submit their own evidence-based industry experience portfolio for membership accreditation review.

Entry requirements

  • Australian university three or four-year Bachelor degree in engineering in the relevant specialisation, or equivalent.
    or
  • Australian university four-year Bachelor degree in engineering in a non-related specialisation, or equivalent.

To be eligible for advanced standing entry:

  • Completion of an Australian university four-year embedded honours degree in engineering in the same or closely related cognate specialisation (major).

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study the English for Academic Purposes EAP3 pathway program through the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Residential schools

This degree has a mandatory attendance requirement for some of the residential and practical school courses. You'll attend  residential schools on-campus, where you will attend face-to-face practicals and tutorials, use the facilities and meet staff and other students.
