Receiving a scholarship has made a significant impact on the study journey of UniSQ student Braden. A Bachelor of Environmental Science student, Braden is the recipient of the Destination Australia Scholarship (Domestic).
Funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, The Destination Australia Program provides financial assistance for UniSQ domestic and international students, with the aim to promote tertiary education in regional Australia.
For Braden, this scholarship has helped manage the cost of study and alleviate any financial worry.
“The extra funding means I no longer have to stress about the affordability/availability of materials for textbooks or any other material needed for study. With it, I'm able to put all of the effort I would usually reserve for worrying about such financial matters into getting the most I possibly can out of university study.”
He has some sound advice for anyone who is considering studying at UniSQ.
“I would say go for it! So far, my time at UniSQ has been very positive, so I would have no hesitation in recommending others study here.”
As far as the scholarship application process goes, Braden recommends giving it your all.
“Be honest and enthusiastic. Let them know just how excited you are to be pursuing your chosen field of study; it really helps if you can demonstrate passion and aptitude.”
