Indiana Rhind will receive $10,000 over two years towards her agricultural related degree, as well as access to industry leaders and opportunities to network and gain knowledge at work placements and industry events.
Her success follows an extensive judging process focused on applicants’ commitment to agriculture, leadership potential and career aspirations.
UniSQ Bachelor of Engineering with Honours student Indiana Rhind will be supported by industry sponsor Cooperative Research Centre for Developing Northern Australia (CRCNA).
'I’m really interested in any innovation that is beneficial for the environment but also affordable, practical and beneficial for producers,' Ms Rhind said.
'I feel it is very important to take the time to step onto farms and talk to producers to see what’s actually needed - not just developing solutions to problems I think they might have.'
CRCNA CEO Jed Matz said it was exciting to see students who were looking forward to spending more time working and researching in Northern Australia.
'Our sponsorship means Indiana will have the opportunity to work within a Northern Australian context, developing her knowledge of the region and developing professional networks and connections,' he said.
