Choosing to study at UniSQ was an easy decision for school leaver Kyran Cook.

'For me it was about two key factors – studying a course that I will enjoy and one that has strong employment outcomes.'

Fortunately for Toowoomba student Kyran, he could tick both of these factors off his wish list with the Bachelor of Spatial Science Technology (Surveying) being offered at a tertiary institution in his own backyard.

'I had always enjoyed maths and science and wanted a job that I could be outside, travel the world and do and see things,' he said.

Kyran has already secured a paid internship as an assistant surveyor for the summer holidays at the Carmichael Mine in central Queensland.

In terms of employment outcomes there isn’t any better than UniSQ according to latest data from the Graduate Outcomes Survey 2020 National Report. It topped the list of all universities in Australia for undergraduate median starting salary ($70,700).

Vice-Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie said the rankings were reflective of the University’s commitment to developing industry-relevant programs and work-ready graduates.
