The University of Southern Queensland Exercise Physiology Clinic, operated by the School of Health and Wellbeing in Ipswich, offers services in a variety of areas including assessment, exercise prescription and education for individuals and groups.
It was established as a community exercise rehabilitation service to provide ongoing care for patients with chronic and complex health conditions, who are unable to pay for private exercise physiology services. It is also available to patients who have exhausted available publicly funded services within the hospital system.
Services are provided by Sport and Exercise students as part of the practicum requirements of their degree at UniSQ under the supervision of staff who are experienced and accredited as Exercise Physiologists with Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA).
The clinic also provides UniSQ within the required facilities to conduct research into the effects of exercise and physical activity on health outcomes.
