Tara

A learner and lover of creativity.

An experienced creative, Tara has studied editing and publishing at UniSQ, completed a Bachelor of Arts in Creative & Critical Writing (Honours) and is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Creative Arts.

With an undergraduate journalism degree under her belt, Tara began her career as an intern at a metropolitan and rural newspaper. After working a variety of jobs such as hospitality, forklift driving and radio show producer, Tara entered postgraduate study at UniSQ after missing the pressures of higher education and realising her love for academic research and writing.

'It was very important to me that my work align with my natural interests and talents, but sometimes you don’t know if a job is the right fit for you until you actually give it a go: clarity comes from engagement, not thought.'

Tara has published non-fiction articles for ABC local, The Huffington Post, Queensland Writers Centre, among many others. She also runs a weekly writing advice blog and began work on her first novel. She has self-published a time travel novella called When Bell Met Bowie as part of her Honours degree, and the mystery novel Every Time He Dies for her Masters program.
