If you have a Bachelor’s degree and are looking for a career change, this is your opportunity to become a Primary or Secondary teacher.
The Queensland Government is offering scholarships through the Turn to Teaching Internship Program (TTT). As a successful applicant, you will receive:
- financial support1 while you study a Master of Learning and Teaching (Primary) or Master of Learning and Teaching (Secondary) fulltime
- a paid internship teaching position2 with support in the classroom while you gain professional experience
- a permanent teaching position in a priority subject area such as Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, Design and Technologies (including Engineering), and /or a priority location in a Queensland State school following graduation and provisional registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
As a University of Southern Queensland Turn-to-Teaching intern, you have the additional benefit of:
- Access to a peer network and dedicated academic advisor to support your professional development
- Cohort specific program of academic and professional learning
- Flexible study options online, on-campus or both from one of Australia’s most experienced flexible study providers.
1 Financial support is provided in the first year through a $20,000 (taxed) scholarship and for the remainder of the program through paid full-time internship employment in a school.
2 Internship employment consists of 50% internship within a school and 50% university study.
2025 Applications now open
We are excited to announce the Department of Education will again partner with the University of Southern Queensland to deliver the Turn to Teaching program in 2025.
Applications will open on Monday 26 August 2024 and close on Sunday 22 September 2024.
