Erasmus+ Funding
There are limited Erasmus+ grants, generously provided by the European Union’s Erasmus program, available to eligible students applying to study for a semester at Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany worth up to EUR 5750 (approx. AUD 9000). The funding can be used for associated travel and accommodation costs while in Germany. To be eligible for an Erasmus+ grant students must:
- Be eligible to receive full time credit towards their UniSQ degree (at least 3 courses approved)
- Meet all eligibility requirements for the UniSQ and Justus Liebig University exchange program
- Be enrolled in a UniSQ degree
- Be selected to receive the Erasmus+ grant and meet the terms and conditions for the funding
This grant is administered by Justus Liebig University and students will only receive payment of the grant when they arrive for their exchange program to Germany. The grant may be paid in instalments for each month the student is enrolled at the partner university.

Insurance:
All students studying in Germany are required to present sufficient health insurance. The local immigration office in Giessen requires the mandatory purchase of a German statutory health insurance (approx.a. 90€/month) in order to apply for a visa extension. JLU will provide details about this at the time of admission. This may not include travel insurance, so make sure to check the policy and purchase travel insurance if not covered under the German policy.
