Exchange students are able to apply for a room in student housing when completing their application form. We highly recommend this option to students who are eligible, as finding private housing in Marburg can be challenging.
Insurance:
All students studying in Germany are required to present sufficient health insurance. The local immigration office in Marburg requires the mandatory purchase of a German statutory health insurance (approximately. 90€/month) in order to apply for a visa extension. Marburg University will provide details about this at the time of admission and give students the option to take out German statutory health insurance during the orientation week. This may not include travel insurance, so make sure to check the policy and purchase travel insurance if not covered under the German policy.
