We've got exceptional graduate outcomes!

The University of Southern Queensland has strengthened its reputation as the leading university in Australia for undergraduate starting salaries.

New data has revealed bachelor degree graduates from the University of Southern Queensland earn the highest starting pay packet in the country, with a median starting salary of $80,000 and an overall employment rate above 85 per cent.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie said the 2023 QILT Graduate Outcomes Survey results reflected the University’s commitment to developing industry-relevant programs and work-ready graduates.

“Our sustained success in graduate outcomes highlights our ongoing commitment to prioritising jobs and employability,” she said.

“The flexibility of our programs allows students to gain crucial employment and industry experience during their studies, providing them with a competitive edge in the job market after graduating.”

The University of Southern Queensland has campuses in Toowoomba, Springfield and Ipswich and online and works with industry to develop its programs.

Professor Mackenzie said the University’s strong connections with regional communities played a significant role in its exceptional graduate outcomes.

“Seven out of 10 students who study at a regional university go on to work in regional areas, driving economic and social development,” she said.

“The University of Southern Queensland has strong links with our communities, enriching the experience of our students and providing the future workforce for regional areas.

“We continue to build on our strengths as a leading Australian university in graduate outcomes by creating and sharing knowledge, transforming lives and solving the problems that matter to our world.

“We are proud to be meeting the needs of our communities.”
