Human ethics

Before commencing research, researchers (including undergraduate and postgraduate students) who wish to undertake projects involving human participants must obtain approval from the Human Research Ethics Committee. No research can take place without ethics clearance.

*** End of year closure advice ***
Sunday 24 November 2024 was the Ethics Office re/submission deadline for applications to be considered for review in 2024. The Ethics review process is now closed and will reopen again on Monday 6th January 2025. If you submit or resubmit an application between the submission deadline and office reopening date, submission date is taken as 6th January (i.e., the Ethics review clock does not start until the 6th January). Unfortunately, we were unable to process all submissions that were received prior the cut of date - please rest assured that the Ethics Office will be prioritising these submissions upon our return in the new year and aim to provide an outcome within the first few weeks.
