  • Whether you want to start a new career or upskill, this degree can fit in with your life. Set your own study pace by selecting how many courses to undertake each trimester. All students come on campus to study a few hands-on, practical residential school courses, but otherwise you can choose to study the main course load online or on campus to suit your needs.
  • Start working in engineering while studying. After two years of study, you will be a qualified Engineering Associate with Engineers Australia, and have an Associate Degree of Engineering under your belt. You’ll have the opportunity to get into the job market while completing your final year(s) of your Bachelor of Engineering Technology.

What majors can I choose from when studying a Bachelor of Engineering Technology?

An engineering technology degree at UniSQ includes courses and practical experience in real-world environments that qualify you as an Engineering Technologist with Engineers Australia. With a focus on introducing you to core engineering and built environment concepts, along with work experience as a technologist, you will gain the relevant qualifications to work in a variety of engineering technology settings and roles.

You can use your engineering technology degree as a stepping-stone into the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and receive the appropriate credit. 

At UniSQ we have three different Bachelor of Engineering Technology majors to choose from:

Civil Engineering – Understand the fundamentals of infrastructure design, planning, development, construction, operation and maintenance with hands-on practical courses and professional equipment.

Electrical & Electronic Engineering – Gain a thorough understanding of electrical theory, digital and analogue technologies, electrical plant and measurement principles – all of which can be applied to a broad range of field applications.

Mechanical Engineering - Design the newest in modern mechanical innovations in the automotive, aeronautical, building, power, manufacturing and public utility industries and gain the practical skills to develop and manufacture efficient, economical and reliable machinery.

How long does A Bachelor of Engineering Technology take?

The duration of an engineering technology degree will vary, depending on the uni you choose to study with.

At UniSQ a Bachelor of Engineering Technology will take you approximately three years to complete. Some students choose to study part-time which increases the time it takes to finish the required engineering technology courses.

Can I study the Bachelor of Engineering Technology part-time?

Yes you can! UniSQ’s Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree is available to study part-time, either on-campus or externally, which means you learn your subject theory online and attend on-campus residential schools.

What are the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Engineering Technology course?

The entry requirements to study an engineering technology degree will vary depending on the education provider you choose.

To study a Bachelor of Engineering Technology at UniSQ you need to meet a minimum ATAR and assumed knowledge. ‘Assumed knowledge’ is the term we use to explain the minimum level of knowledge we presume you have in some subjects before you start your degree.
