Overview

  • UniSQ’s Graduate Diploma of Education (Professional Advancement) gives you the opportunity to curate your own learning and select eight courses that complement your career aspirations.  
  • Shape your degree to suit and select from areas such as learning difficulties in reading and mathematics; wellbeing promotion; child abuse and neglect; dysregulation in social and emotional learning and wellbeing; and neurodiversity and autism, or pursue a different focus with coaching and mentoring; consultation, educational counselling; collaboration and communication; functional behaviour assessment; and multi-tiered learning design. 
  • Interested in building skills in collaboration and communication in your workplace? Select courses that help to build these consultative skills required to communicate effectively and support individuals on their learning journey. 

Further study

Successful completion of the Graduate Diploma of Education (Professional Advancement) will qualify you to apply for the Master of Education.

Career outcomes

  • This specialisation aims to develop professional educators with specialist knowledge and capabilities. You will graduate with the skills necessary to make contributions as an educator, leader, researcher or consultant in a range of traditional and non-traditional educational environments. 

Entry requirements 

  • Approved bachelor degree, or equivalent, in Education. 
  • Candidates with a bachelor degree, or equivalent, in a non-related discipline may be eligible for entry into UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Education. Upon completion and achievement of a minimum GPA of 4.0, they may apply for entry into the Master of Education. 

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study with our English language partner, the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
