Grace

A passion for helping others.

Grace found her passion for occupational therapy in Year 10 when a teacher encouraged her to explore the field. Since then, she has set her mind on working in the industry – a journey that begins at university.

“I was so excited to be offered a spot in The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) at UniSQ. The campus has a great vibe and felt welcoming right from the start, I instantly knew this was the right uni for me,” said Grace.

“I had so much support from the admin staff when I was enquiring about the course, and this support has continued throughout my studies.”

Now almost at the end of her first year of study, Grace has loved experiencing both theoretical and practical learning.

“I’ve learned from exceptional lecturers who offer ongoing support and guidance in the field.

“Within the classroom, I have valued the opportunity to learn and listen to our lecturers' real-world experiences across various occupational therapy domains.

“The staff really mentor students to become competent and compassionate occupational therapists,” she said.

With an interest in rehabilitation and paediatrics, Grace is looking forward to utilising the in-person training and hands-on clinical experience UniSQ offers to find the occupational therapy field that is right for her.

“While studying I’ve used facilities like anatomy labs and simulation houses, they have helped me grow and better understand what it means to work the field.”
