Did you know that 1 in 5 Australian adults experience a common mental illness each year?
Learn how to provide mental health first aid to friends, family members, co-workers and other adults by registering for Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training. UniSQ offers the evidence-based training courses authored by Mental Health First Aid Australia and delivered by accredited MHFA instructors.

- Provide initial help using a practical, evidence-based Action Plan

Completion of MHFA training, plus a post-course online assessment, enables you to be a Mental Health First Aider which is a nationally recognised designation and valid for 3 years. Training is currently offered as an online course.
ONLINE MHFA (OMHFA) requirements:
- enrolled UniSQ student
- over 18 years old
- must complete 6-8 hours of eLearning content followed by two, 2.5 hour webinars (both webinars must be attended)

The 2021 Top 100 Future Leaders Competition in July/August 2020.
This competition gives you a chance to:
- Meet Employers – Gain exposure to Australia’s best graduate employers
- Practise Applying – Try out an actual recruitment process before you have to do the real thing
- Represent Your University – Help represent your university and help them rank higher in these awards
- Increase Your Profile – Be featured in the Australian Financial Review
Awards categories:
There are 10 different awards, each target a different degree type so you're sure to find one that suits you!

Eligibility:
- Currently be residing in Australia
- Be enrolled as a student at an Australian University in 2020 (undergraduate or postgraduate)
- Be available to attend the full day assessment and awards evening, if required, in February 2020 in Sydney AND if you reside outside of the greater Sydney area, we will pay for return flights and accommodation - some restrictions do exist, so reach out to the GradConnection team.
How it works:
There are 5 stages in the application process, which is very similar to what you will find when applying to graduate
- Complete an Application
- Complete psychometric tests
- Complete a Video interview
- Complete the assessment centre
- Attend the Awards Night. The dozen of employers that participate in the applicant assessments announce their
results with students and universities taking top honours on the night.
