Overview
- Are you fascinated by the universe? Interested in science and the physics at work in the world around us? Astronomy aims to understand our universe using observations, experiments, and theoretical and numerical studies. Astronomy is a discipline that relies on the innovative application of physics, whilst drawing on a number of other scientific and technological disciplines.
- You will learn from internationally recognised stellar astronomy and planetary systems experts and access UniSQ’s advanced research facilities, including Mount Kent Observatory, scientific computing software and support, and overseas telescopes available through UniSQ’s international collaborations in astrophysics.
- Experience world standard learning with the flexibility of studying externally either full or part-time. You will be supported by online classes, remote access to UniSQ facilities, and residential schools where appropriate.
- UniSQ’s Bachelor of Science (Astronomical and Space Sciences) major enables students to survey the state of modern astronomy and of physics, develop professional knowledge and skills in stellar astrophysics, planetary science, solar physics, space science and physics, obtain research project experience, and graduate with widely useful scientific, numerical and critical analysis skills.
