  • This specialisation does not qualify you for teacher registration in Queensland. You can qualify for teacher registration in Queensland with the Master of Learning and Teaching (Early Years), Master of Learning and Teaching (Primary) or Master of Learning and Teaching (Secondary).

Successful completion of the Graduate Diploma of Education (Career Development) will qualify you to apply for the Master of Education (Career Development).

Career outcomes

  • Career opportunities exist in an array of work environments from schools, TAFEs and universities to government agencies and industry. Roles can include career development practitioner, career educator, career counsellor, work-integrated learning coordinator or employment counsellor.

Entry requirements

  • An Australian university bachelor degree, or equivalent, in an education-related discipline.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 with a minimum 6.0 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study the English for Academic Purposes EAP3 pathway program through the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
