UniSQ Academic dress

2025 academic dress (PDF616KB) is slightly different to official UniSQ academic dress.

Your AUD150 Ceremony Fee includes the loan of academic dress, and a gifted mortarboard/Doctoral bonnet with chord.

We encourage you to wear smart attire rather than casual clothing or casual footwear (thongs or sneakers) to your ceremony. Academic dress can be quite warm, so keep this in mind when selecting appropriate clothing to suit your ceremony location and date.

The following conditions also apply to your loaned academic dress:

cannot be removed from the graduation ceremony venue
must be returned within an hour of the conclusion of the graduation ceremony i.e. after studio photography
a cleaning charge will be applied if the gown is returned in a soiled condition
items not returned will incur a fee for the full replacement value

If you choose to purchase academic gowning, from our supplier P.Blashki and Sons Pty Ltd, please allow sufficient time for your gowning to be manufactured and shipped i.e. 1-2 months. Only a very small number of graduates purchase academic dress to wear at their graduation ceremony - these are typically Doctoral graduates.

All graduates attending a ceremony will automatically be 'gifted' a mortarboard/Doctoral bonnet and chord, so you don't need to purchase head wear.

Providing your own academic dress for a ceremony does not alter the AUD150 Ceremony Fee.
