After-hours Library usage guidelines

1.  Student Card Swipe-In:

• Students and staff will need their UniSQ card to swipe in at the designated access point. Each student must individually swipe their own card for entry. Allowing others to enter using your card or tailgating is not allowed.

1.  Security

• Regular security patrols will be conducted to ensure the safety and security of all users.
• Security cameras monitored by the central control room are in operation throughout the spaces.

2.  UniSQ SafeZone App

• Students are strongly encouraged to use the UniSQ SafeZone app for added security. This app can be used to request assistance and quickly report any safety concerns or emergencies to campus security.
• The SafeZone App can also be used to request an escort to your car or between buildings.
• This app has a check-in facility that students are encouraged to use. In an emergency, this will let Security quickly know you are in the building.

3.  Emergency Exits and Evacuation:

• In case of an emergency, follow the evacuation diagrams and/or instructions provided by security personnel.

• Students must respect other users, the library space and equipment, in line with the UniSQ Student General Conduct Policy and the acceptable use of ICT Resources policy
• UniSQ libraries are designated safe spaces for LGBTIQ identifying students and employees to work and study, free from harassment or discrimination based on sexuality, gender identity or gender expression.

2.  Noise Levels:

• The library is a shared study space. Students are encouraged to keep noise levels to a reasonable volume.

3.  Cleanliness:

• All personal belongings and rubbish must be removed or placed in the correct bins provided.
• Please leave the space tidy and clean for others.

4.  Compliance with Library Policies:

• All users must comply with the Library facilities access and use procedure and the University’s policy regarding Children on Campus.

• If you have an urgent concern about someone on campus, please contact Security using the SafeZone app, or by dialling 2222 on the phone provided, or 4631 2222 on your mobile.
• If you have a non-urgent concern regarding the wellbeing of yourself or other students, please use the Share a Concern portal.
• For serious building faults (e.g. water leak), please alert Security using the SafeZone app or by phoning 4631 2871.
• To notify Library staff of minor issues that can wait until the next day please email library@unisq.edu.au
