Open Sesame: Unlocking potential at UniSQ

The University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ) is gearing up to welcome thousands of prospective students and their families to its 2024 Open Days.

The University’s 2024 Open Days promise to be bigger and better than ever, with events and academic meet and greets across its Toowoomba, Ipswich and Springfield campuses.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Geraldine Mackenzie said she was excited to showcase the beautiful campuses, thriving student life, and excellence in research and education to prospective UniSQ students over the next two weekends.

“Registrations for our 2024 Open Days are up almost 50 per cent on last year’s events – a clear sign of the enduring value of a tertiary education,” Professor Mackenzie said.

“The long-term benefits of a university education cannot be understated. A degree gives you opportunities to immerse yourself in your area of passion, significantly increase your job prospects and improve your future earning potential.

“Bachelor degree graduates from the University of Southern Queensland earn the highest starting pay packet in the country, with a median starting salary of $80,000 and an overall employment rate above 85 per cent.”

UniSQ Open Days are designed for people of all ages and backgrounds to explore the opportunities at the University of Southern Queensland.

In addition to course information sessions, there will be practical demonstrations, including a VO2 test (a key measure of aerobic fitness) on an athlete and opportunities to build and launch a water-powered rocket and participate in a live flight simulator demonstration.

A range of food vendors and entertainment will be on hand, along with face painting and a native wildlife display.

The 2024 Open Days will be held across all three UniSQ campuses:

• Ipswich | 11 August | 10am - 2pm
• Springfield | 11 August | 10am - 2pm
• Toowoomba | 18 August | 10am - 2pm
