Overview

  • Help businesses maximise the opportunities of new and existing technologies with UniSQ’s Bachelor of Business (Information System Management).
  • If you know you want a career in IT but don’t want to narrow your focus too early, the Information Systems Management major is ideal. You will gain a broad range of skills with the aim of helping you become a versatile and adaptable employee, equally adept at addressing both technical and business issues.
  • Gain significant analysis and design experience in the business context, while also developing an understanding of the broader architecture of information systems and the principles of modern software engineering practice.
  • Work alongside industry partners on real world issues through a variety of authentic case studies as well as a capstone project in your final year.
  • Select a second business major to diversify your knowledge or tailor your career path with a combination of minors and electives. 
  • Graduate in just two years with our accelerated pathway, study four courses per trimester consecutively and graduate sooner. UniSQ also offers part-time, online and on-campus options so you can study on your terms.

  • As a graduate you will be optimally placed for a wide range of careers in business and IT, including business information systems developer, business applications designer, business analyst, enterprise architect, intelligence officer, information systems developer, ICT project manager, database administrator, or database designer.

Entry requirements

Pre-requisites

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

  • English (Units 3 & 4, C), and
  • General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study UniSQ's UniReady courses TPP0122 and TPP0123, or the English for Academic Purposes EAP2 pathway program through the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

If you have previously studied in your home country, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
