Overview

  • UniSQ’s Diploma of Multidisciplinary Studies provides general study skills to make you ready for university study.
  • With a focus on Indigenous Community Development, this specialisation will develop your understanding of the issues, principles and theories needed to pursue a career in social services. 
  • You will have the opportunity to choose a number of courses within history, First Nations literacies, anthropology, or community welfare to broaden your scope of the sector.

Further study

As a graduate of this Diploma, you will be eligible to apply for direct entry into selected UniSQ undergraduate arts degrees or the Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies. If you choose to go on to further studies some subjects that you choose could also count as credit toward your undergraduate degree.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 5.5 with a minimum 5.0 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests, or you can apply to study the English for Academic Purposes EAP1 pathway program through the Union Institute of Language (UIL) to meet the English language requirements.

Degree structure

To complete this degree students must complete 8 units. Most courses (similar to ‘subjects’) are valued at 1 unit. To study full-time you would usually complete 4 units per study period.

Once accepted into the Diploma, you will need to complete online diagnostic tests in mathematics, e-literacy, and English communication skills to assist staff in determining your level of reading comprehension, written expression, and mathematical understanding.
