Overview

  • UniSQ’s Diploma of Science (Computing/IT) introduces you to the fundamental concepts of computing and information technology.
  • Learn more about algorithms and data structures used in computing, explore web publishing and programming using Javascript and develop understanding about data analysis.
  • The Diploma is a qualification in its own right, and you can stop there if you want to, but it is also a pathway to a Bachelor degree. This means that the eight courses you study can count towards a Bachelor degree.

After completing the Diploma of Science (Computing/IT) you can continue your studies with the Bachelor of Science (Computing) or Bachelor of Science (Information Technology).

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

  • English (Units 3 & 4, C), and
  • General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

If you have completed a qualification from a TAFE or qualified private provider, you may be able to use these qualifications to meet UniSQ's entry requirements.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study UniSQ's UniReady courses TPP0122 and TPP0123, or the English for Academic Purposes EAP2 pathway program through the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
