Further study

Graduates interested in further study can apply for the Bachelor of Science (Honours), Graduate Certificate of Science, Graduate Diploma of Science, or the Master of Science.

Pre-requisites

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

  • English (Units 3 & 4, C), and
  • General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

We assume that your knowledge is equivalent to a grade C or higher in Units 3 and 4 at high school level (typically studied in Year 12). Find out more about assumed knowledge.

  • Recommended prior study: one of Agricultural Science, Biological Science, Chemistry or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C), or equivalent.

Additional requirements for placements

This degree requires you to work with animals and in outdoor environments. For your protection, you must be immunised for:

  • Tetanus
  • Q-fever (unless you have proven immunity – tested prior to vaccination).

Special entry schemes for admissions may increase your Rank, through the allocation of additional points in certain circumstances, such as educational disadvantage where you live, and subjects you passed.

Tafe (VET) qualification

If you have completed a qualification from a TAFE or qualified private provider, you may be able to use these qualifications to meet UniSQ's entry requirements.

Work and life experience

You may be able to use your work experience and other adjustment factors to increase your selection rank and meet UniSQ's entry requirements.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study UniSQ's UniReady courses TPP0122 and TPP0123, or the English for Academic Purposes EAP2 pathway program through the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.

Professional experience

As part of the degree, you will need to complete professional experience placements. These experiences provide you with opportunities to put theory into practice.

All students must be able to meet the physical and other professional requirements of professional practice within this degree.

Residential schools

All students, regardless of study mode, will participate in hands-on residential schools on campus, where you will use innovative technologies in production and research settings.

What are the entry requirements for an agriculture bachelor degree?

The entry requirements to study a Bachelor of Agriculture (also known as a Bachelor of Agriculture Science) will vary depending on the learning provider you choose.

At UniSQ, to gain entry into our Bachelor of Agricultural Technology and Management, you’ll need to meet a specific ATAR, pre-requisites assumed knowledge. ‘Assumed knowledge’ is the term we use to explain the minimum level of knowledge we presume you have in some subjects before you start your degree. This degree also includes recommended prior study. Although it is advantageous to have completed the recommended prior study, it is not a mandatory requirement for entry.
