  • Make an impact in the world of visual media; photojournalists play an important role in communicating and sharing information with people across the globe.  
  • From politics to economics to entertainment, learn how to professionally capture and produce the stories that shape our world. Develop your knowledge of the various roles and functions of the media and understand your responsibilities as a professional journalist.  
  • Refine your skills in interviewing, reporting and developing audio/visual techniques.  
  • Examine various photographic genres including editorial, commercial and artistic styles to prepare you in navigating various shooting scenarios and settings.  
  • Explore the digital tools and platforms available to help you produce different formats of digital storytelling.
  • Create a skill set that is uniquely yours by combining your photojournalism studies with another area of interest such as legal studies, international relations or politics.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study UniSQ's UniReady courses TPP0122 and TPP0123, or the English for Academic Purposes EAP2 pathway program through the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
