Organisational divisions
The Vice-Chancellor’s Division, led by Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Karen Nelson comprises the following:
- Office of the Vice-Chancellor
The Vice-Chancellor is supported by a small team of staff, who manage the day-to-day business of her office, including meetings, functions and events.
- Governance
The University’s Governance Office provides administrative and professional support to the University’s governance structures, including University Council and Academic Board and their sub-committees. Included in the Governance Office is the Integrity and Professional Conduct Unit.
The Academic Division, led by Provost, includes organisational units which are responsible for the delivery of the University’s academic program portfolio, and the management of its continuous improvement, and its quality delivery across all campuses. The Division comprises:

- Students Portfolio
- UniSQ College
- College for First Nations
- Academic Transformation Portfolio
The Provost is responsible for providing line management of the UniSQ College, the College for First Nations, Library Services, Academic Transformation Portfolio and the Students Portfolio, in addition to providing executive academic leadership and strategic direction for the Schools, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs) is responsible for providing leadership and line management across the Schools. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (First Nations Strategy) is responsible for University-wide leadership in Australian Indigenous strategy, policy, and culture in support of achieving the University’s core functions of education, research and engagement.
The Enterprise Services Division, led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise Services), Michael Thomas comprises:
- Facilities Management
- Finance and Business Solutions
- ICT Services
- Legal Services
- People Portfolio
- Planning and Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise Services)
- Risk Management, Compliance and Insurance.
The Research and Innovation Division, led by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor John Bell, coordinates the University’s Research agenda and comprises:
