Overview

  • The Diploma of Science is perfect if you would like to start your science studies with a bite-sized portion.
  • If you don't want to specialise just yet, the General Science major will allow you to select six approved courses and explore an area of interest rather than a set major. This allows you the freedom to tailor your studies to your career aspirations.
  • Choose from a range of courses within areas such as astronomical and space sciences, biology, food science, human physiology, psychology or wine science (just to name a few!). 
  • This Diploma is a qualification in its own right, but it is also a pathway to a bachelor degree, which means the eight courses you have studied can count towards your next degree.

To study this degree we assume you have sound knowledge in:

  • English (Units 3 & 4, C), and
  • General Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C)

Tafe (VET) qualification

If you have completed a qualification from a TAFE or qualified private provider, you may be able to use these qualifications to meet UniSQ's entry requirements.

You may be able to use your work experience and other adjustment factors to increase your selection rank and meet UniSQ's entry requirements.

English language requirements

You are required to meet the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each subscore. UniSQ also accepts other English language proficiency tests.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you can apply to study UniSQ's UniReady courses TPP0122 and TPP0123, or the English for Academic Purposes EAP2 pathway program through the Union Institute of Language (UIL).

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
